Wir feiern in der Rhybadi auch dieses Jahr wieder einen Tag lang zu sweet Reggae music. Am Nachmittag mit der Schaffhauser DJ-Crew von Real Rock Sound, die am Wasser die Offbeats aus Jamaica spielt. Am Abend auf der Konzertbühne dürfen wir die Steadytones aus Deutschland begrüssen. Die Steadytones konzentrieren sich musikalisch auf die goldenen jamaikanischen 60er Jahre und spielen Reggae, Rocksteady und Ska mit Elementen aus Dub und Soul. Vor zehn Jahren haben sie ihr erstes Album veröffentlicht und touren seither in ganz Europa, sowohl alleine, als auch als Backingband für Pioniere wie Stranger Cole, Dawn Penn oder Keith & Tex. Die Besetzung der Steadytones mit Schlagzeug, Bass, zwei Gitarren, Piano, Rhodes und wummernder Orgel macht, zusammen mit dem dreistimmigen Gesang in klassischer Rocksteady Manier, die goldenen 60er Jahre wieder erfahrbar, hörbar und spürbar – als in Jamaika der Weg bereitet wurde für Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff & Co. We’ll be celebrating in the Rhybadi again this year for one day to sweet reggae music. In the afternoon with the Schaffhausen DJ crew from Real Rock Sound, who will be playing offbeats from Jamaica on the waterfront. In the evening on the concert stage we welcome the Steadytones from Germany. The Steadytones focus musically on the golden Jamaican 60s and play reggae, rocksteady and ska with elements of dub and soul. They released their first album ten years ago and have been touring all over Europe ever since, both on their own and as a backing band for pioneers like Stranger Cole, Dawn Penn or Keith & Tex. The line-up of the Steadytones with drums, bass, two guitars, piano, Rhodes and booming organ, together with the three-part vocals in classic rocksteady style, makes the golden 60s tangible, audible and palpable again – when the way was prepared in Jamaica for Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff & Co.
